The fact that I have a mental illness can dominate my thoughts in such a way that I have a distorted view of myself, and knowing who I really am is an important step to mental health recovery. Being able to love being me is very healing and it can create more confidence to overcome depression and anxiety. Today’s daily affirmation is a positive reminder that it is nice to be me. Today, I choose to affirm within myself: “ I love myself for who I am!” I will utilize this reminder often throughout my day so that it can become part of my conscious view of myself, and I hope that others will reap the benefits of this positive tool.
